We offer a friendly and professional service to all of our members and specialise in helping you to achieve your goals. Whether you want to lose weight, tone up or just simply feel fitter – our well-equipped gym is open all week and offers members fitness assessments and personal training services.

Our aim is to make exercise a regular and enjoyable part of your life. We have a full range of cardiovascular equipment, including treadmills, cycles, rowers, steppers, hand bikes and a low-impact cross trainer. In addition, we have all the resistance machines you’ll need to strengthen and tone your muscles and a separate free weights room. What’s more, you can pass the time whilst watching TV or just listen to the music!

Health appraisals, tailored programmes and inductions are available to all members of The Gym. We also offer an additional Personal Training service to our members if they require it, provided by the staff.

We sell Myprotein products at reception; mainly protein powder for post workouts and protein bars and snacks.




Our range of resistance machines improve toning, build muscle and increase muscle, tendon and ligament strength. We have upper and lower body machines to work all the major muscles groups, which include:

Using free weights is a little harder and more skill is needed as you progress through your training. Free weights can be used to strengthen and tone all muscles in the body. Our range of equipment includes:

The Gym is staffed during all opening hours and our team is available to you on a personal basis. They are professionally trained to give advice and to tailor programmes in all aspects of fitness and health, but specifically to provide health appraisals, to tailor weight loss, fitness and muscle building programmes, core stability, goal setting and to offer nutritional advice.

All ongoing advice is FREE, including updates to your work regimes, adapting your existing programme or creating new ones. We will be there for you and commit to keeping you motivated and encouraged to achieve your goals and outcomes.

Our staff are all professional, qualified Level 2 Instructors and Level 3 Personal Trainers, and each have their own areas of specialty. Don’t hesitate to ask any questions you may have about health and fitness; the team is here to help!

Andrew Cooper

Fitness Manager / Personal Trainer

Andrew has been with us since April 1996. He has a Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Personal Training & Business. His main sporting interest is Kung Fu, at which he is a qualified 3rd Degree Black Sash Instructor, and also holds a 2nd Dan in Kickboxing. He has won 2 National Titles in the past few years at the National Kickboxing Championships. He also enjoys running, weight training and mounting biking.

Graeme Sosna

Fitness Instructor / Personal Trainer

Graeme joined us in January 2006. He is from Horsham and is a YMCA-qualified Level 3 Personal Trainer. His ambition is to gain further qualifications in the industry, to progress his career in Personal Training. He is currently Player of the Year for his local football team. His other interests are keeping fit and socialising with friends.

Simon Anderson-Contreras

Fitness Instructor / Personal Trainer

Simon joined us in October 2016. He is a Level 3 Personal Trainer and has spent the past 18 years helping people to transform how they feel, move and perform. He specialises in rehabilitation and sports performance, so whether you want to move with less pain or increase your golf shot, Simon can help you. Simon enjoys sprinting to keep fit and seaside walks with his wife to relax.

Cameron Hall

Fitness Instructor / Personal Trainer

Cameron joined us in October 2019. He is a qualified level 3 personal trainer.  He enjoys training both in gym as well as outdoor training. Focusing on practical, natural movement and bodyweight training. His goal is to further develop and achieve qualifications to specialise in strength and conditioning. Cameron also aims to participate in fitness events along with achieving his own personal fitness goals.
